Vehicle or mobile security patrol is the second most effective way to deter crime on property. Vehicle patrols occur when a trained security officer checks on a property at random times throughout the day or evening, usually in a clearly marked security vehicle. Being visible and random is the biggest asset against any illegal activities as it shows we are there, and the criminal doesn’t know when we’ll be there next. This can greatly reduce the means or ability to commit a crime. While we cannot control motive or the reason or need to commit a crime, we can influence it.
Mobile security patrol also allows for a quick response of a security officer to a given situation that may have occurred or may be occurring while the officer is away. Such situations may be a vehicle parked in a reserved space or a noise complaint.
